Infographic Porn

This week a big thanks goes out to OK Cupid for creating an infographic that blends technology and dating, resulting in what I'll unhealthily refer to as infographic porn. Check out their chart below which plots the relationship span of a twitter user versus an average person. I'm actually surprised that the short form nature of twitter doesn't breed a mentality for even shorter term relationships...

For a laugh, I've also included some of my other faves as curated this week by Buzzfeed. In case you are wondering, vegetarians, ahem, really aren't anti-meat (check my math) and people that go to ivy league schools expect to have sex more. Not that they necessarily do. That all sound about right to me. What do you think?

  1. These graphs are amusing but I don't think I'd rely on them as a dating guide. :)

  2. What do you mean? For now on I will only date vegetarians :)

  3. So then to summarize: People who regularly use different social media outlets tend to have relationships that are marginally shorter. Not surprising since I think Facebook and Twitter provide more options in finding dates. "A man is only as loyal as his options."

Vegetarians: Also not surprising. I guess if you don't eat meat outside the bedroom... Although I once dated a girl who was a vegetarian and she was always looking for alternate sources of protein. Not to imply I could compete with tofu, but in a blind taste test I would give myself a 50/50 shot. No pun intended.

And finally, if you go to an Ivy league school and subsequently make more money as a result, you invariably expect to get laid more. Nothing novel here. Men in particular tend to equate money to sex. I assure you fewer guys would practice corporate law or work on Wall St. if they couldn't use it as leverage in trying to make conversation with random girls.

  4. Your summary is amaze-balls! I wish they would have singled out people that went to Duke on the third chart. That would have been ridiculous.
